As I say, for the type of work I do a lot of - where there might be three or four thousand images in one folder - you can see why I don't use large icons. I know this doesn't take you much further forward but i did see a referrence somewhere in BC fairly recently that you need to have your folders, in Windows Explorer, set to large icons.

Also if you can get it to work for your version of Windows 10 then there is a big chance that it will improve your file search function (which is woefully slow on Windows 10 files for any computer with less than four cores). With the current version of Windows you have to set it to icon or details mode in order to change the sort settings or order of the files and then you have to switch it back to preview mode but with Windows File Explorer you do not have to do that.
